Hello- my son is starting medication in the "sprinkle " form ( he is not a pill taker). He is a young aged 9 and I would love to hear any tips from experienced parents about ways you make the medicine taking "fun" , how you have explained it to you child.

Taking medicine
I always like the comparison to an engine, and their engines are running too fast. When my son was diagnosed he was very into trains. The occupational therapist helped him make a train and talked to him about the trains engine. When I talk about medications I focus on this he has trouble with and how we need to find the right medication to help him so he can do those things better. I have also been very honest with him and told him he will need to take his pills his whole life. I'm hoping it helps as he gets older as son kids start to oppose taking the medications. My son is no longer on medications as he has found success with broad spectrum micronutrients. But we still focus on them being his medication and he needs to take them to keep his body running right.
