Anyone have experience with Abilify good or bad?

Anyone have experience with Abilify good or bad? My son is on 2 mg a day. I hesitated to put him on it but he has a very low frustration level and becomes easily upset over small things. Just wondering if having him on the drug is worth its potential side effects. He's not out of control but he does knock over chairs sometimes and get moody

My grandson is on Risperidone for anger issues. The psychiatrist wanted to try Abilify. Maybe if he had not been so out of control and we had more time to be on it, it would have been better. But we had to wean off the Risperidone to be on Abilify. And the lower the dose of Risperidone, the more violent he got. So we had to discontinue Abilify.

It clearly works for some children, making them calmer and less temperamental (ours is much worse without it). See if it happens for your son.

My daughter has been on Abilify for a year now. She takes it as a mood stabilizer. She now takes 20 mg at night and it has worked very well for her!
