No, we haven’t done this but I’m really hoping we can.... the results look amazing and I love idea that they help to train the train & build the ‘focus’ muscle! I love that it has even been proven to be a medication alternative.
Go for it!
Hi there,
Yes, my son just completed the full program (which is 160 hours) and it yielded tremendous results. I would definitely recommend them. Since it is so different than tutoring, it really mad a huge difference in my son's reading, de-coding, fluency and comprehension.
Would you mind providing some details around what the weekly schedule was like for that 160 hours? I'm not sure how to reply directly to folks on here, but I'm really interested in learning more about your experience.
I have not, but I've looked into it in our area and kept in on my radar. Please, if you can, reply back and give more info. I'm looking into educational therapy over the summer, and it looks very intensive (which is a good thing), but I don't know how our family can handle the logistics. My point is that, educational therapy works on brain training as one of the aspects, so maybe this is a good alternative where we can get some results and not break the bank and schedule. Please, let us know how it turns out!
Two cool things I learned from signing up with the email list. They give Free webinars online (listen on iphone). If you do sign up for their program they can train you as a parent to teach/ train your kid the skills needed to train their brain to learn. You can reach out to them online, email or call. The more info you have the better to make a solid decision.
I think if you click on my name or screen name you can message with me directly. So we did the 160 hours over the course of a year. The center strongly suggests that the students comes at least 3 times per day with a break in between for best results so we did the Mon, Wed, Fri for the longest time 1.5 hour each. When my son had testing (he is 5th grade) we had to slow down a bit or when the fall/spring sports started, we also had to scale back but kept it to twice per week at least. We have tried many different therapies and tutoring methods yet nothing gave us results like Learning RX did. Since the program works on the shaping of the "brain muscle" more-so than "teaching" it what it needs to understand, I think that was what made the most sense to us and what helped my son get so much better in reading and comprehension. My son was significantly below grade level for reading and is now on grade-level entering 6th grade in the fall. It is very time-consuming and it is an expensive program but the results to us are very worth it.
