My son is 12 and he will begin his first session this Friday, I was nervous about moving forward since is so expensive but decided to go ahead due to my son lack of academic and social achievement in school. You can apply through a financial agency they recommend to you. I have to admit this is the most Ive ever paid for anything besides a new car so it is very expensive but knowing that we have a chance for Sean to achieve success socially and academically makes me feel hope and happiness which has no price tag. We are going to finance it, we will start with the three month and then decide after the experience if we move to the six months. I will post our experience here after about a month and at the three month target if you would like to keep an eye out. Good luck and God bless. Indianapolis IN

Hi Maluvzla,

Could you please share your experiences with the Brain Balance program. Just want to know if you thought it was worth the money?

Maluvzla-

When our journey is hard, hope makes it feel like it is easier.

I am curious about the use of glasses with filters that are light on one side or darker on one side. Do you know what evidence they have for this? I have not had the time to do research this concept, while I can't imagine it hurting a childs vision, I know how sensitive they are to other children's reaction. I am hoping this goes to clear glass in an academic setting to not impact learning. Even light shading might impact how they read print.

I know you are just starting and I know we will learn a lot from you, thanks for sha ring and YES, if you feel your child is not gaining from it you can stop. I am just very sad it cost so much it mean many families that don't have the money can not benefit from the program if it benefits children.

Best of luck.

I was going to try it because it sounded great. Then I spoke to my friend, the one who thoroughly researches EVERYTHING before she does it. She found it works for some kids, but not all. And a big part of it is a very strict diet (I believe its gluten free/dairy free -- something we tried when our son was younger with a good bit of success. ) We decided not to do Brain Balance because if I am going to pay that much, I want a greater rate of success. (Plus, I believe they are a bit anti-medicine and medication really helps my son.) I would suggest that before you sign it, try to change your son's diet. Gluten-free/dairy free/soy free -- no artificial colors. Get the book "Cure your Child with Food" by Kelly Dorfman and it will explain how to do it. Good Luck!
