Support Group

Hello All,

I'm a single mom of a 14-year-old son who has ADHD. I'm having a hard time trying to distinguish if my son's behavior (not listening, forgetting everything, needing constant remainders) is a teenage behavior or ADHD behavior. I'm looking for a support group in the Bowie, MD. Does anyone know of any?.

I live in the DC area and I found my support group through CHADD website. If there is one in Bowie or close by, it should be listed.

Thanks for your response. I did try CHADD, but I did not notice the listing for support groups. I'm not the best with technology perhaps I overlooked it. I'll definitely try again.

Hello, welcome! I live in Baltimore MD and am a single mom of a 12 y.o. son with ADHD. These behaviors are very common for children with ADHD. The CHADD website contains a list of places that hold weekly support group meetings in your area. Behavior therapy for your son will help manage the behaviors you describe. The therapist will provide ways to help your son with following directions, use of times, checklists, rewards, etc.
