My 13yo got they 7th grade by the skin of his teeth. I'm sure they threw in a few extra points to avoid him going to summer school. I'm just SO frustrated! No medication, btw. I know that's always the first question.
Just needed to vent.

I am sure as a mother this is super disappointing. Can you give us some more information about your sons situation? Is he supported by an educational plan? Does he struggle to get his homework done? Is he doing tutoring, does it seem like there is anyone at the school that even cares?
For my son's school unless he is in trouble I really don't hear from them.
What do you think is his biggest barrier to learning?
Hope we brain storm with you to give you some ideas to help, soon will be high school where the grades really count.
My 14 year old son lost 4 years of school because of s hooks inability to know how to teach him.
I took him to math tutoring where they began teaching him 3rd grade math. This deficit of 5 Years was shocking. We have him at mathnasium now on a scholarship.he goes to math 3 days a week for an hour. We really hope this Bri ga him back to grade level st least I. Math. We are starting him at a new school for 9th grade. We know his grades count now. We know the school he use to attend did not fail him just to prove that his IEP goals were sufficient. They do t want the state of Utah investigating how they teach IEP students.
I would definitely get him some tutoring and an IEP if he dose t already have one. An IEP is the best way to make sure he continues learning. Best kid luck to you! We are in the same boat with our son academically! It is quite a journey to educate these kiddos!
