5yr old ADHD

My child was diagnosed with ADHD. Is taking guanfacine which helps with body restless and movements, but he is becoming verbally agressive at school, saying mean things, and extremely back talks at home. He is also constipated because he refuses to go to the bathroom at school. After 5 days of holding stool we have to put suppository and is a whole nightmare. My life has been transformed into hassle by daily calls from school. He just got some counseling going on, and is elegible for 504 section, but the charter school that he is in is a new school and seems not to be able to deal with him. Any advice on school settings or maybe public schools in the area “Osceola county-FL” that are equipped to have him is appreciated. Thank you.

My son is also taking Guanfacine 2mg. It has helped him focus more. My son is verbally and physically aggressive at school and sometimes at home. Gerber prunes mixed with orange juice can help with constipation. I had a 504 plan but it doesn’t help as much as an IEP. Not sure if Charter schools have a CST (child study team) to conduct an IEP. The daily calls from school used to be such a nightmare for me. My sons school called in a RBT (registered behavioral therapist) which helped tremendously and stopped the frequent phone calls. My son also have two teachers in his 1st grade class and will continue to have two with the help of the IEP.

Is the IEP he is getting fro charter or public school?

I raise my 8 yr old grandson and he has ADHD. I understand your stress. The phone calls and notes of disruptive behavior. He is now on the 504 plan and it helps. You need to get as close to the teacher as you can. Me and his teacher have created a points chart. It starts at 23 and when he has a problem a point is deducted and then a reason why. I'm in Bradenton FL so as for as schools there I don't know which to recommend but they all have to accommodate him with a 504 plan. Maybe call the school board.
