First day of Brain Balance

Last night was Sean's first day of his Brain Balance program. The first thing they do as we arrived was had him identify four different smells to get his brain stimulated. We are specifically working on stimulating his right side of the brain so they asked him to remove his shoes and the sock on his left foot (yes his left) They took him back to the exercise room and I had a meeting with the specialist as it was his first day. I was presented with a bag of goodies, a lunch bag along with water bottle a book with all of the information and another smaller booklet to take if we travel, everything was inside a nice bag. They explained to me all of the exercises that we would have to do every day at home with Sean, this includes the days that he goes to brain balance which will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday for an hour each time. While we do the exercises at home they presented me with music composed specifically to simulate the right side of the brain which I can play in the background while we do this. Explaining how I was going to do everything took the whole hour that Sean was back there. As we finished, Sean came out with a big Smile in his face and said he had enjoyed his session and made a new friend. Sean made 5 "Brain Bucks" for having completed all of the exercises expected of him at the session, being the selfless kind hearted child that he is, he chose to give this as a new friendship gift to his new friend. The Brain Balance coach was surprised and I explained to her that this is very Sean like, he always thinks of others before thinking of himself. To summarize the night, it was a lot of information but very simple to understand and everything went well. Monday we will be given the diet information which I am expecting to be strict as I have read some reviews online, and I have been preparing Sean letting him know about it. I thought that a good idea would be to tell Sean that I was going to do the diet with him to show support and he loved the idea of doing something like this together. I told him the sky is the limit and we can accomplish anything that we set our minds into. Hope this review helps others and I am going to be posting updates as well. God bless.

Brain balance is a wonderful program . I don’t have the money to participate but I rented the book the brain balance doctors who developed this program wrote from the library . It is diet and exercise based! I am glad you have the money and self discipline to do this wonderful program. We follow parts of the diet and parts of the therapy but my son has ODD and will not participate completely. I wish you the best! Please keep posting about your experience it is very motivational.

Keep a journal, please. I have many friends whose kids experienced short-term gains after spending $3-$5k. I am hoping you have more encouraging news to share for the long run. Good luck.
