I have been stimulant medication for my Inattentive ADHD for 3yrs as well, and in that time I have researched many facets of stimulant medication. I'm not sure what your daughter is taking, but if she has been taking a stimulant medication for three years, then the neurotransmitters the medication helps out with (Dopamine, Serotonin, Norepinephrine) will start to deplete, which is why your daughter is feeling like the medication is not working later in the day. This is why I highly recommend supplements to take with the medication. I had the same problem after around the 1st year, and supplements greatly helped me out cognitively, physically, and most of all helped the medication work to its full potential.
For this I recommend:
N-Acetyl Tyrosine: To help the depleted Dopamine and Norepinephrine neurotransmitters (to be taken an hour or 30min before taking the medication)
Tryptophan: To help the depleted Serotonin, and improve the mood and fidgeting (if she's of the hyperactive or combined type subtype)
Also as a plus, I highly recommend CoQ10, to keep her heart rate and blood pressure healthy and stop them from rising, as is common with stimulant medication. A good organic multivitamin with antioxidants is also highly important.
Here is everything I take, what it does, and why I take it (just incase you're interested)

And here is a very helpful supplement website for people with ADHD, the guy who runs it has Inattentive ADHD like myself.

Hope this helps, best regards.
That’s very interesting that her symptoms get more sever after lunch because that is exactly what happens to my son. I have asked doctors if he can have a med boost after lunch. I can’t get any of his team of doctors to support that unless I want to take his Meds to him every day after lunch. They do t want them being suspended by anyone but me or my husband.
We haven’t found anything that helps. I will be following your post to see if any other parents have any ideas! If I find anything that helps after lunch I will let you know! Best of luck!
My daughter has been taking Methylphenidate 30 MG everyday for school and her teachers have asked me to talk to her doctor to make the doses stronger but the doctor says no because teachers here dont want to work with ADHD students
Schools don’t get to talk about weather your student is or isn’t on Meds or if they have an opinion they should keep it to themselves unless you ask them. If the doctor wants their opinion he will give you a already that the teacher fills out about your child and you returnbit to him. I believe it is called a conners rating for adhd. We have done this many times with different teacher he has had through the last 6 years. Balancing Meds is a perfect science it takes you your childs doctor and periodiodicaly a teachers input. Follow your moms heart prolmptings and you will find inspiration for your child! Hang in there. Keep advocating for your child!
