How to feed an adhd kid
There are many theories out there about what is best for an ADHD diet. Keep in mind that what has worked for one child or hundreds of children may not work for yours. Some swear by Dr. Amen and his approach and others by the Feingold diet. In our house I found that limiting the amount of processed foods, increasing protein at breakfast (especially eggs and nuts), and making sure they drink plenty of water has helped.
Hi Kayla: I feel your pain! My thirteen year old son had a small appetite before starting medication and it's only gotten worse since. We try protein shakes in the morning and have now just accepted that lunch is a lost cause. The evenings are better when the med is wearing off, so I just try to have dinner and a snack for him before bed, and vitamins to supplement. Hopefully you can figure out what works for your daughter, but you're not alone!
