I'm a mother to an 8 (nearly 9) year old boy who has dyslexia and ADHD. He has low self esteem and suicidal thoughts. We have started therapy with him and I think taking the right steps. It is heart breaking to see your child in such pain and feels like I am failing him. I'm looking for parenting support groups in my area to have a safe space to share and learn from other parents in similar situations. Any out there?
Thanks

Our son is adhd, anxiety and used to be depressed with bouts of suicidality which started in 2nd grade. We finally were able to map the bouts of suicidality to dietary infractions (he's been gfcf and dye free for years). We went to Mensah Medical in Chicago (they do outreach clinics across the US) and they diagnosed him with Pyroluria. Prescription vitamins including zinc and b6 made an ***enormous*** difference, stopped the suicidality and raised his mood and self-esteem. What a relief!! Still dealing w ADHD symptoms but hopeful over time their protocol will make a big difference on that also. Good luck!
