Hi! 49 yrs . Been having back pain for over a year. Within this year changes in my cycle. Pain heavy bleeding etc. Have had diagnosis of thick uterus and small cysts on ovaries. Finally got into a gynocologist and he suspects adenomyosis. He has done a scope and biopsy. I go for my follow up tomorrow- but I never did bring up back pain as I didn’t realize it could be connected! But now reading and researching it makes sense and explains the intermittence of it . Last appt I had with him he said my options are birth control mirena or lastly hysterectomy. I have tried birth control in the past and get sick , that’s out for me- so I’m not willing to try mirena because of that as well. So before heading into this appt I need to tell him about the back pain . My question for you folks - am I crazy for kind of having my mind made up wanting a hysterectomy and will they agree to give you one?

Back pain
Hello! Hope you're having a pain free day today. Thought I'd respond to you as I've only recently been "diagnosed" with adeno too. (Was diagnosed with endo over 20 years ago and since laser treatment 15 yrs ago - it's not reappeared)
I'm 42 with 2 children and not planning any more.
For me, birth control pills are def not an option (make me incredibly depressed/anxious). My consultant also offered a chemically induced menopause- which tbh I'm not emotionally ready for. Neither am I ready for a hysterectomy for the same reasons.
So I think that the least drastic option for me to try is the coil (less hormonal disruption I guess).
As for the back pain- hell yes! Along with all the other symptoms I have no idea how I'm going to be from one day to the next!
Hope your appointment went well- if you're willing to share I'd be interested to hear
