Does anyone know of any alternative pain relief options for endometriosis / adenomyosis?

I’ve struggled with endometriosis for the last 14 years but I’m currently in the middle of a big flare up and have been off work since October. I had a laparoscopy 2 weeks ago but unfortunately the endometriosis tissue has now gone inside the wall of my uterus and the surgeon wasn’t able to remove any of it.

Over the years I have tried a number of different pain killers and hormone treatment but this time around I’m really struggling mentally with the side effects of medication.

I’m absolutely desperate to find some pain relief that doesn’t make me feel like I’m loosing my mind (ie. no Codeine, Tramadol, Oxyconde etc.)

I’m currently taking Pregabalin, paracetamol and ibuprofen (occasionally Mefenamic acid instead of the ibuprofen). The Pregabalin has really worked for me but not enough that I can get back to work.

Does anyone have any other suggestions on medication that has worked for them? I’m really open to any suggestions.

Laura xx

Hello 👋🏻 thank you so much for replying. I spoke to my GP and have been given Naproxen and it is helping. It does make me so sleepy but better that then worse pain. Thanks so much for the recommendation :) xx

Hey i take pycnogenol (pine bark) after failed uterine ablation which has now been diagnosed as adeno..

also settapeptese is very good

Both excellent for healing inflammation/scar tissue/oxygenating and renewing blood cells.. i was in severe pain every month.. now just mild...

heat pads soothe but to really help from the inside id highly recommend the above

Hiya, thanks so much for replying! :)

Pycnogenol works a charm it’s a good strong anti inflammatory.

Serrapeptase made me really nauseous but because the nutritionist who suggested I take it told me to take it wrong. You have to take it in an empty stomach at least 45 mins before eating food.

Just letting you know because it made me so ill and I wouldn’t want anyone to feel that too.

Stay well

Hi there,

The only pain relief I take is Voltarol suppositories, they go up your back passage and don’t give you stomach upset like oral pain reliefs can. Lasts 12 hours and is really affective.

1000mg is a big dose so I cut it up smaller sometimes depending on how I feel.

Amitriptyline is an antidepressant but my doctor gave it to me for pain relief I’ve heard it really works for some without the numbing effect other antidepressants give you. I couldn’t carry on with it as it gave me awful headaches.

Stay well
