ART - BMC Urology: Comparison of various continence definitions in a large group of patients undergoing radical prostatectomy

I have constantly heard that 90% plus of men are "dry" at 1 year post RP...I have never believed this. Doctors report higher success for both continence and ED than actually occurs and there is little interest in standardizing the criteria used to measure the outcomes of surgery...in Germany this is changing and the use of "0 Pads," is being considered to define 'Continence,' and by my definition who is "dry." As you can read by using 0 pads the continence rate is nowhere near 90%....

This article has some good information as well as to what types of surgery and post operative conditions, lead to better degrees of continence...also, pelvic floor exercises do provide better results over time...
