In pain, in tears and alone.

Hi

I’m at the end of my tether, in pain, in tears and alone. My family busy and my friends in invisible illness group are lovely but we just meet once a week and I don’t want to be a moaner in the group especially as they all have their own health problems.

Anyway I’m waiting for kidney stone removal. I’m confused about my pain as one consultant says where the stone is shouldn’t be causing any pain ( on ct scan result she showed me it looks like the hyperechoic mass is actually between the two kidneys right up high and near like touching the adrenal gland) it’s grown double the size in one year that’s why the decision has been made to remove it. I have nausea, extreme pain, blood in urine also now urine interchanges between brown and the occasional completely clear. I’ve been drinking lots of water with lemon in I have no money to buy medicines that I’ve read help break down stone. The consultant said she was calling another hospital that does stone removal and first she said it would be a week or two then two to four weeks I think. Memory a bit vague as still had some morphine in my system and had only just come round from it.

Anyway got sent home to wait as hospital overwhelmed with patients and no beds. I went to the loo out of special chair and when I came back another patient was in it .

So I struggled home a bit later. Next evening the original a and e dr I saw rang to say did I come back for ct and go to a and e after for results discussion I said yes . He said who did I see and what did they say??? So I told him what I could remember and he had not had any word of it by the sounds of it but said he would order the kidney stone removal.I was grateful for this and told him the pain I’m in. He was sympathetic and said what to take we’ll come codamol isn’t touching it and I found out from other consultant I can’t take any anti inflammatory as had reaction to naproxen which I was given from primary care for torn pectoralis muscle a few days before urgghhh. The consultant was going to give me a diclofenac suppository but had to go check with dr or her superior as mu hospital is a training hospital. Answer came back no which was upsetting as I just want rid of the pain and was looking forward to the relief. Anyway she said it must be a pain from somewhere else as it was on and off but since home I realised that on and off pain was a different one to the constant left side achy pain parallel with belly button and going through to back or vice Versa hard to tell just bleeping hurts and makes me feel like vomiting.

On another note conflicting diagnoses from the a and e dr and the consultant who seemed new one said I had infection and prescribed antibiotics other said I didn’t have infection. One said that it not kidney pain and must be something else other said it’s probably the kidney pain. One said see dr as continued pain or come back to a and e(which I can’t get to) no local family drive and others don’t want to.

So I’m just waiting and hoping now that appointment for hospital that does the procedure or surgery is soon but I’m guessing I’m on bottom of list with those who have kidney stone not in urether

It’s so hard being alone in this, that’s why I’ve posted here just to vent. I’m not expecting anything just had to get it out.

Thanks if you e read this far lol

Feels like I spilled my guts oooh if only I could haha

Take care fellow sufferers may we all get the care we need and bless those that give it. Busy times xx

P.S do these look like small stones or debris that has managed to pass?

Hello, first of all, I’m really sorry to hear about your experience and the way you have been treated. Kidney stones I’ve heard are extremely painful, but I’m also trying to gauge wether you have pain on the right side, which could be gallstones, and believe me those are extremely painful. Morphine does help some people and not others. So on that I can’t advise anyone. My only suggestion is at this moment go right back to your GP and get them involved. They have more weight than you doing it on your own. Plus, anything that has been done, normally goes straight to your own dr within days. I really hope that you finally get some help, but I would go back to your own dr.
