I do. Unfortunately I don't have a solution for you. I have had a "fuzzy head" since my treatment about eight years ago, along with complete deafness in one ear. The treatment only arrested the progression of the growth of the tumour but not the symptoms. Migraine attacks don't help the situation either!

Freddd can I ask what treatment you got Please

You most certainly can. It was "fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (FSRT)" and was administered in three sessions during the course of a week at the N1 City Hospital, Goodwood, Cape Town. Although subsequent scans have indicated a reduction in size of the neuroma the symptoms (fuzzy head, imbalance, complete deafness in the left ear) have remained. I should mention that I had been warned that this would be the case.

Yes unfortunately, especially since my surgery 2 years ago. I have a lot of brain fog and fatigue. I've learnt to adapt to the 'new' me. Hope you are ok

I was diagnosed in June of 2022 with a AN, my second MRI 6mths later showed no change. I am due another one in Dec23. I find that if I get a head cold then it makes everything worse in terms of processing and overwhelming fatigue and takes me longer to recover. Needing twice as long off work to get my stability and brain functioning enough to be able to cope. Finding I am waking up each morning recently with a headache which seems to subside once I start moving. Going to be chatting to my specialist nurse to see if this indicates any changes in size?

Hi Mickyb123,

No I’ve not got any answers as yet for the daily headaches in the morning. Possibly worse as I’ve had an upper tract infection and still recovering but will see in the next few days. I will post an update once I have any more information.

Poppies, I feel that I wrote that I’m exactly the same, I never wake up without a sore head, it’s usually on my left side but it can also be both sides just above both eyes.

Yes I too have this symptom since my surgery in 2018. I have tinnitus also since two years. Surgery reduced the size of the neuroma from 44mm reduced to around 20mm. No further growth noticed in recent MRI. No medication for the symptoms. But be encouraged you can manage to live with it.

Hi, I would say I feel this too. I was wondering if it related to when I have done too much and am tired or associated with the extra effort with listening or dealing with the background tinnitus.

I definitely get worse when tired I now have tinnitus in both ears which I find when we have that it can make mixing in company exhausting.

Hi, I would have definitely described myself as having this, or heavy head and clampy headache feeling, both before and even more post treatment ( 3 sessions of SRS in June 2022 for a 25mm AN) . Roll forward to now, other than the tinnitus and hearing loss, which I’veadapted to, I feel really great. I do take 10mg of amitriptyline around 8pm at night to help the neuropathic head pain, which works a treat and gives me a great night sleep. Just come back from a week long music event in Spain and it was fab. I feel better than I have in years, no fuzzy head. I do really look after myself and no longer work all the time, but I can honestly say for me it’s got so much better. I don’t even think it’s shrunk, but I no longer worry about it all and focus on doing so the things I want to and ditch things I can that I don’t!!

Hi Ballantyne, Happy festive Holidays. I hope you are feeling a bit better.

I am a newbie to all of this. I have had tingling in my head daily for a year now. The last couple of months I've been having terrible ear problems with awful pain, ringing popping and terrible nausea. My eyes are now affected with double vision, very dry and painful. Saw Opthamalogist who diagnosed Loss of Peripheal vision and optic neuritus.

GP useless, saying I've got Vertigo as I am not walking well. He has given me drops, and Cinnarizine tablets which are NOT helping..

Any advice greatly appreciated

Take care

Happy New Year
