Confusing symptoms can they be the AN ?Confusing symptoms can they be the AN ?
Hi I am confused about what are the AN symptoms and what could be me just getting stressed.
I am really scared of the MRI and have an appointment for 19th Dec,
I have had occasional headaches which start with blurred vision and circles of light for years . Last week I had 3, is it stress or the AN is there any way of knowing? Plus my tinnitus and rushing sounds have increased and I have started wearing my reading glasses a lot more as vision sometimes goes a bit blurred and the computer light seems to bright .
I have visited GP surgery before with questions but they don't really know and say ask the specialist .
Any advice
Thanks
Lynne

Hi, I can understand your concern as I went through similar: unilateral hearing loss, tinnitus, severe balance issues, etc. A AN was ruled out and I was diagnosed with vestibular migraines after ages (appointment was for next February but I got a cancellation). If you have suffered migraines before then this could be a very real explanation for your symptoms. Very real.
You could also ring the MRI department and say that you are prepared to come in at very short notice of they have a cancellation. I did this and was seen within a week. Once you've had the MRI, IF they contact you with a few days it means that either the scan needs to be redone or they'll want to see you. If you haven't heard by then you should be good. Took months for me to get the results. The reason is the massive backlog they have, so the consultants make two stacks of scans; get hold of the people straight away, and write the report later (which means elapsed time of weeks until you get the report).
Try to think of best possible scenario, deeper the difficulty of this. Good luck!
Sorry to hear you are experiencing problems. I guess my question would be have you had an eye test. I had an MRI and really is easy, there is no need for worry there unless perhaps you are claustrophobic. Good luck anyway
Hi Yes I am claustrophobic and I really hate going in and it really upsets me. The last two were at a local hospital , this time I am going to Kings college which also brings the unknown.
I know I just have to man up and get on with it. I expect the blurred vision was stress but it is good to discuss with others who have similar problems ,
