Not sure what to say. I discovered this site when I came across a great post about boredom, and learned about Acton before Motivation.
I suffer v badly with depression causing lack of motivation, chronic loneliness and boredom.

Hi PB,
I can relate to the feelings you mention.
I don't know your circumstances but here are a few things you could consider.
I find that family has become more and more important as I've got older so I try to keep in touch more than I used to.
Also, it's good to have friends.
There was a time not too long ago when I had virtually no friends. So I joined a club (a choir actually) and though it was a bit daunting at first it wasn't long before I got to know a couple of people well enough to meet for a coffee with them.
That was seven years ago.
Now I know 5-6 people I could meet up with for a drink (coffee/beer), and whom I could call friends. This has made a world of difference to my life and general well-being.
I still have days where I feel lonely and where my self-esteem is terrible but I'm in a much better place than I was back then because I know there are people who care about me.
I hope this helps a bit.
Hi AussieMale
Thank you so much for reading my post and for your kind suggestions. I'm so delighted to learn of the improvements which you have made in your life.
I have quite a numberof really good friends who i meet up with for coffee and lunch etc. I just don't have a circle of friends. It's during times when they are with their partners or children that I struggle, like Sundays and Bank Holidays.
My family are dysfunctional xx
