Hi, I am new to this site but already feel excited at being among people in similar situations.
I am struggling with depression and have done for many years. Hopefully this blog will help me to put my experiences out there, to help others whilst helping myself.
Depression is so misunderstood by people who have never suffered.

Hi and welcome to the site! I'm relatively new to it as well. It's quite a quiet forum but that's good for me as too many 'alerts' tend to stress me out! I'm suffering with depression and anxiety myself severely for the third time in 6 years. I too have really good days but then confidence-shattering bad ones.
I hope you find what you're looking for on here.
Best wishes,
Little Miss Bennet
Hi
Yes, it can be really useful to find a blog site for depression. I've been using several for some time and find them particularly useful when I'm feeling lonely as that's the one thing it's not possible to help myself with!
I agree it is helpful to be able to help other people. It's humbling to find that people who seem so much worse than me none the less answer my blog with supportive comments - I really feel as if they become friends in some kind of way.
I find the more I write about myself on the blogs the more helpful people's responses are as they are able to understand my situation better and there is always someone who has an understanding of one aspect or another.
I'll look forward to hearing more as you feel able to write. At the moment I'm not using the blogs much for my own depression as I'm coming towards the ending of a therapy and want to take my feelings there as it will be more productive if I use the therapy in that way but that doesn't mean I'm not depressed, just dealing with it differently at the moment.
I hope you are not feeling too bad at the moment, it does come and go for most of us. You say you are struggling which sounds hard. Do write more when you feel able to.
