Chronic vertigo

Ciao! My sympathy for those with tinnitus. That’s part of what I have. I have multiple sclerosis and had either an MS event or a stroke in 2003. Total deafness L ear. Constant vertigo since, as well as tinnitus. Does anyone have vertigo (“The Beast”) also?

Hi Mychoiceforonce,

I have T in both ears, predominantly my right ear. This all started around two years ago. I have Vertigo/ dizziness, but especially when I am upset or stressed. I also have anxiety. I have had this dizziness for a lot longer than I've had T. I don't seem to get dizzy all the time now, I used to have it constantly. Also, the T is worse when I'm stressed. Anxiety and stress definitely make all the symptoms worse.

I find meditation and relaxation helps. I really hope your vertigo eases soon.

Kind regards

Marian

Hi Lisbeth/Marian, both my T and vertigo felt better when my pain was adequately addressed, but when the gov’t has decided that no one hurts and everyone is an addict, my T and vertigo (The Beast!”) came back like crazy. Your anxiety is REAL. Especially with vertigo. I used to juggle a few medications that worked well, but they were taken away because of the war on patients, doctors and treatment here in the states. It’s horrible. The fight isn’t yet over! Do you have a diagnosis? Take care of you as much as you can!

Best to you, Sue

Hi Sue,

It must be so difficult when your medication is changed or taken away. I presume it's cost cutting and not understanding the pain and suffering people are living with on a daily basis.

I have a diagnosis of T with Hyperacusis. I use white noise generators in each ear. I was also diagnosed with Anxiety a long time ago. This was work related but has stayed with me. I have been on different anti-depressants in the past. they didn't help, too many side effects.

I think, to a point, I have habituated to the T, which is brilliant. I meditate every day and try to be mindful, concentrating on one thing at a time.

I hope you are able to get back the medication you need. Take care.

Kind regards

Marian

Hi Marian, I it’s so difficult living with chronic illness. I’m going to a clinic for examination for my vertigo, since it’s getting worse. The T is just constantly there. I understand completely about antidepressants. My headaches would become unbearable and stomach problems. My best to you. I know the feeling. Take time for you. -Sue

Yes, ......hyperacusis with vertigo. It seems to come and go and is manageable, unlike bedspins, it has a vibrating sensation that seems to penitrate into the brain. I suspect yours is asymmetrical so probably harder to adjust to.

I think I can empathize with you..............

I think what may be most depressing it seems to have gone on forever. The hyperacusis has improved with a bone anchored hearing aid, but it’s almost 15 years. I’d like a normal day please! 😑
