I just had an attack of some sort again. 3 days ago was the exact same.
Google says vertigo is spinning sensation but I didn’t really have spinning.
My top of head goes tight and heavy feeling and nearly fuzzy. My brain tells me not to move my head left right or look up. If I do I get nausea. Really hard to explain. I now have tinnitus high pitch but no fullness.
Is that what you would call vertigo?

Hi Mat Could it be disequilibrium you're experiencing?
Same here I don't get classic spinning vertigo, more a lack of spacial awareness and, like you, feel I need to keep my head still. I sometimes trip but that has improved in the past two months. I found the disequilibrium word whilst googling vertigo and felt it described it better.
How strange we are experiencing such similar symptoms.
Here is definition of disequilibrium, if it is of use. Take care.
I have also been getting dizzy spells and headaches, tinnitus is back, and very loud. In my case I believe it is linked to long COVID symptoms. Only had a mild case of COVID but sense of taste has never recovered, and everything else including ear problems began after that...
Hopefully you can try strategies to help and it is really good you can sleep. I vary between having distractions eg listening to music - and other times I prefer quiet spells.
I've been having what I've always thought to be vertigo quite a bit more recently. Mainly from watching films where height is involved and camera angles looking down. It sends my head almost backwards away from what I'm seeing with a really weird panicky sensation and I feel tightness in my head and the rest of me can't move and my hands start sweating. I used to get this feeling on metal stairs where you can see through them and they feel unsafe from vibrations with people walking on them. Also this morning I think I must've had a nightmare (which suggests I actually was asleep despite bad PT) as I woke up with a similar feeling and also had burning chest pain in the upper right towards my shoulder (I did injure my shoulders in 2020 and am waiting for a referral to neurology about them). I did feel my PT come on really strong last night and still have tightness in my scalp especially at the top of my head. My upper neck is also really tight atm. I know I was asked by ENT if the room ever span and I said no but I've had different weird symptoms previously where it's like things in the room are closer but peripheral vision is less obvious. I've just had my eyes tested and they are fine. The pressure in general especially in my head and ear had also resurfaced along with PT.I don't ever feel like I'm going to be sick though.
That sounds very difficult. I've not experienced films as triggers. Definitely don't like gaps in stairs. Had them in my last house and it was awful. I used to feel panicky lying with my head back at night and used lots of pillows but ok now. I think that was probably partly anxiety. I had my peripheral vision checked at opticians a few years ago as I thought I was missing seeing things but, for me, I think that was stress. I think ENT (in the UK) could come up with better wording for their questions and get a more detailed idea of what people are experiencing with vertigo, tinnitus, headaches and pressure. Maybe they could create a standardised questionnaire that people could complete before seeing an ENT consultant.
It is challenging, at times, to separate out the symptoms and untangle them. Hope you are getting help. Take care.
