Tinnitus counselling

Hi there, hope everyone is having a positive day today. I was wondering who's had tinnitus counselling? I had a follow up audiology appointment today re my hearing aids and I now have an appointment to have tinnitus counselling on May 19th, just wondering what to expect? -Bev x

Hi Mrshanson.

I have had tinnitus counselling as part of TRT (Tinnitus Retraining therapy) It can be helpful in enabling you to manage your tinnitus better. Hi Mrshanson, I had three counselling sessions and I found it very helpful - it made me realise that everything I was feeling was normal and that I was not alone. I was given lots of information on tinnitus and best of all she told me she had lots of success stories which was just what I needed to hear.

Accept all the help you can get from the NHS and other sources - and eventually you will see a light at the end of the tunnel.

wish i had got someT counselling ive not had any really in 4 years . very much a case of get on with it yourself edinburgh audiology not great have had better ep. at glasgow
