Boiling hot then freezing cold within a minute lasting all night

Hi there I am female 51 years old. My last period was in January this year. For the last at least two months I haven’t had a decent nights sleep due to be boiling hot one minute and literally the next I’m absolutely freezing cold. Covers off and on all night. Does this relate to anyone else and how long can this last it’s driving me crazy.

Hi Junkjournal1,

I'm 54 and have been struggling with those symptoms, and many more for years. I started HRT two weeks ago, and now they're gone! I know HRT isn't for everyone, but I decided I'd rather risk HRT than live with all these horrible symptoms.

I was 54 when I started the change. Once the hot flushes started life changed. Yes what you are experiencing is normal, and can go on for a very long time. I am now 64 and still have them. I tried HRT but to come off it for a health reason. It's the lack of sleep that comes with it that makes things difficult too. Worth thinking about HRT. I tried a lot of things from Holland & Barrett but they did not help, but each to their own.
