I had blood taken Friday after she took my bloods it felt like a heavy weight on my arm anyway it’s swollen no bruising but can sometimes feel a bit of like uncomfortable in my thumb not all the time .
Doctor say there may be some injury as last time the nurse hit a nerve and my arm was sore for two weeks !
Now it’s just like swollen.
She said give it a few more days and it should be better
Has anyone experienced this before?
Thanks

Rarely, the needle will hit this tiny nerve on the way into the vein. This may cause a short, sharp electric-shock type pain. This may be all that happens; however in some cases tingling type of pain may persist for one to four weeks, as the nerve heals.
HiYes last time a nerve was hit when I had bloods done but last Friday when I had more bloods done my arm is now swollen a bit and my thumb sometimes hurts .
A nerve wasn’t hit this time but my arm is a little swollen so I’m wondering if it’s normal for this to happen?
It’s possible this could still be linked to a nerve pain, and should resolve itself in due course. But if the swelling becomes hot and painful, contact your GP for advice.
Yeah I was thinking the same . I suppose once the nerve has been damaged then any other blood test will make my arm feel sore and swell! I’m going to keep an eye on the swelling and if it gets worse I’ll go to the A and E
