Hi Molly🙂 This must very challenging to deal with, I haven’t had it occur myself but there have been previous discussions. To see links type ‘bladder prolapse’ in the searchbox (above right).

Omg Molly... I’m so much like you.. I have a pessary ring for prolapsed bladder and womb...6 yrs now🙏It’s been brilliant ... but now I’m suffering terribly.. hospital visits for urology and ghaenochology too ... I’m scared of the bladder mesh as it’s had such bad reviews.. I’m 54... how old are you 😘😘

Hi Molly, I think the FDA doesn’t allow vaginal mesh to be implanted. I am in the medical device field which at one point included women’s pelvic health before and during the dark days of vaginal mesh. The problem stems from the fact that is nearly impossible for a material to match the elasticity of vaginal tissue to correct prolapse. However I am hearing there are more elastic & soft materials being developed, but not sure on timeline.

Most important is to choose an experienced physician that is closely following the latest technologies. Depending upon the severity, there are not many good options if a mesh alternative is not available.

Thankyou for your input very interesting ..I went to see a gynecologist I went private as the waiting time on nhs was 52 weeks !! Anyway I discussed with him my issues he asked me if I would like to try to use vagifem pesseries he said he recommends this before going down the surgery route so I'm using these along with my kegal 8 pelvic exerciser everyday and have to see him again in 2 months so I'm hoping this works as hd said I could stay on a perm basis so I am happy to try this before the surgery route ...hope this may help other mature ladies x

Hi theres lots of information on prolaspe surgery on the internet but a word of warning l recently read some hospitals use tension free vaginal tape TVT these kits come with instructions that say the tape is made of mesh! I have decided not to have mesh at all. Theres an alternative to use your own ligaments/tissues you need to make sure it's not mesh by another name.
