Is it normal to bleed (get period like symptoms) after stopping with combination pills?

I stopped taking the combination pills 4 days ago. And today I noticed some cramping followed by bleeding. It felt exactly like normal periods I used to have before I started taking birth control over a year ago.

I’ve looked it up and read about “withdrawal bleeding.”

Is this bleeding normal or should I be looking into talking to my doctor?

After stopping hormonal birth control, most women will have withdrawal bleeding within two to four weeks. After this withdrawal bleeding, your natural menstrual period should come back itself the following month. This period will be heavier and longer than withdrawal bleeding.26 Nov 2018
