Bleeding after ultrasound?

I’ve been having pelvic pain for about 6 months so my Gyno sent me for an ultrasound- both the external one and the internal/ transvaginal ultrasound. They failed to inform me I was supposed to consume 34 ounces of water to prepare for the external one, so the tech tried to compensate by pressing really hard.

I thought that was painful, but the internal one felt like pure torture. It literally felt like she was stabbing me with a knife in there. Also at one point whilst pushing that wand in extremely hard she also pushed down on my left ovary so hard I nearly screamed.

Later that night I had some somewhat heavy spotting; it started as red blood, and by the next day turned to brown and then stopped. I thought that was it, but the same thing happened again for the past two nights again; late at night just as I’m getting ready for bed, I get this red heavy-ish spotting, that gradually turns to brown during the next day and eventually stops, only to start up again at night. I am on the Depo shot and haven’t had periods since being on it.

What could be causing this? I tried to call my doctor earlier because also the results were supposed to be in today also, and the receptionist said they would have her call me back but she never did. Now I’m stuck worrying about this until Monday.

Sounds like the sonographer was very rough with you, the scans shouldn't be that painful and shouldn't cause bleeding, definitely talk to your GP.

Did they find out the cause of your pelvic pain?

Yes, it’s endometriosis :(
