Potty training my son

I’m going through potty training with my son, he’s mastered the use of the potty or toilet for wees but is holding his poos in, he says he wants the poo to go away & eventually has an accident in his pants as he can’t hold it any longer. We praise & encourage him to have a poo but he just says he’s fine when we know he’s not. Any ideas or tips?

Just posted the exact same question before realising I could do a search on other posts. My son doesn’t want to poo on the potty. Any progress your end?

Hi, no he’s still holding it in, occasionally had one on the potty but nothing is regular. So hard watching him panic & be uncomfortable. Spoke to health visitor who suggested things we were doing already. Hoping it’s a time thing & it’ll all fall into place. He recently went two days with no poo & then did a big poo on potty!! We just kept telling him it’s good to poo & praise him that way.
