Get the glasses off

Hi all,

I work as a software engineer at a reputed IT company near Toronto. I have been here for the past year and a half. I work for more than 8 hours a day. Sometimes I also have to work at the weekends.

I had a perfect vision of 20/20 before this job. But lately, I have been experiencing some eye problems like back, neck and shoulder pain, headaches and blurred vision at times. I thought it was due to my stress, but I came to know it was not just because of that after consulting an ophthalmologist in Toronto( skouraseyeandcosmetic.com/m... ) suggested by one of my friends.

After the detailed checkup by the doctor, I have been advised to use permanent glasses as I vision is not so great now.

I am not a glass person. So, I am looking forward to getting any vision correcting procedures available(not sure there are any).

I was hoping to get some suggestions on the procedures. Someone, please help.

LASIK laser treatment has helped many. I’m considering it too. I wear contacts and they are a pain. Don’t like wearing glasses either but they’re actually stylish and there are some really fun frames you can get, all kinds. Look into laser vision correction. It’s easy and affordable but there are risks. The procedure seems nerve wracking but maybe they can use sedation. A high quality fish oil may help your eyes as well as lutein or eye support supplements.

I too wear glasses and for most of the time it’s ok but there’s occasions when I would love to go out free from glasses but as I am both long & short sighted so laser treatments won’t be effective. I was told that one part of my short sightedness could be treated but I would have to wear glasses for the long sightedness. This may of changed as it was a few years ago.

The reason that I have contacted you was a number of years ago I was experiencing significant reductions in my sight. My optician was very concerned and took my medical history. At the time I had massive flare ups in my gut as I also have a rare condition which affected my gut so much that I could only manage a very limited liquid diet. I was due to see my consultant as I was virtually living on a very week squash drink this had been going on for a couple of months. This resulted in the initial reduction in my sight. My ‘diet’ caused this problem. The consultant prescribed a multivitamin that contained essential minerals etc. He also prescribed a liquid drink that also contained everything to keep me living. As it couldn’t be obtained how much my body was able to absorb. It took a number of months on the drinks and mvs before there was any gradual improvement. When I read you posting about how busy you’ve been I did wonder about your diet and if you were living on a poor diet of convenience foods. It’s a long shot but it’s worth thinking about the simple most obvious reasons before looking at more complicated options. It took a number of months before my sight improved. It was a scary period as I was concerned that I was going blind. Thankfully my sight recovered. I hope that you are able to find a solution to your sight deterioration. Good luck.
