After 35 years of every diet, tablet and fad I think I have found my solution - it may help you.
Stop dieting - whatever you lose you will put will put it all back on - they don't work and the only winners are the slimming clubs etc.
Download Myfitness Pal onto your phone or notebook.
Record what you eat - don't count calories or become obsessed - just record what you are eating.
Now gradually concentrate on changing your eating habits - making healthier choices and making sure you are having the right amount of protein, carbohydrates and fats. The app does all the work for you in calculating everything. You will be amazed how changing some of your food choices can make a massive difference. Nothing is out of bounds but adjust to get the right protein, carbs and fats.
Take a multi vitamin and mineral every day.
Make sure you are getting enough fluid.
You will start to feel much better as you will be getting the nutrients right.
Exercise - again start with nothing drastic you are trying to change your habits so you are in for the long haul so don't overdo it or you will only last 5 minutes.
I bought a dog and started walking the dog twice a day. Feeling more motivated I joined a Fitness Centre and amazingly love it! I am waiting for a total knee replacement and riding a recumbent bike has improved my mobility. I watch tv at the same time or listen to audio books. Pick a fitness centre that is not full of 'body beautifuls' but one with wide range of ages and abilities.
And finally remember no diets or quick fixes - they won't work. You are in this for the long haul
