I am in the same position as you. In the past I must have spent hundreds of pounds on Weightwatchers. I only got to goal once in the 5 or 6 times that I must have joined, but the weight crept back. So I still have 2 stones to lose. I have only been using this site for two and a half weeks, but I feel that it is definitely going to work this time. Good luck to you with your efforts at losing that weight.

Hi debzone24,

Have a good read about the NHSChoices live well lose weight pages. There's lots of good free advice and information there including a BMI calculator and a free 12 week plan.

If you want to reduce your weight long term, rather than become a yo-yo dieter, it's not about a diet - it's about changing your lifestyle particularly in the areas of how and what you eat and activity/exercise.

That's why the 12 week plan is 12 weeks, because if you achieve in changing your habits for that period of time you stand a good chance of keeping to the new ways because they become the 'norm' for you.

Thus, I don't do KitKats and Twix's, etc, fried breakfasts or the chip shop any more, which used to be integral parts of my eating habits.

Good luck.

Hi, I too have done WW and SW and spent loads of money - lost a few pounds but always put it back on! Thought I'd try this 3 weeks ago and I am now finding it really easy - the first 10 days are hard as I was always hungry! I have now lost 5lbs, so it is slowly coming off and its been hard this week as its half term holiday!

I recommend you download 'Myfitnesspal' to your phone or laptop and record everything you eat (plus your exercise!) I think you will find it will help!

Good Luck with your 1st week :-)

hey i am in the same boat and thinking of starting on monday, start of the week always sounds like a good idea :)

i was on weight watchers and lost 4 stone about 3 years ago i think and was really happy at the 12st i got to, i am around 6ft but the weight has creeped up very fast and now weigh a terrible 17st 10lbs (most ive ever been) I am very unhappy so i need moral support to be able to loose the weight, weight watchers costs far too much and I too just put the pounds back on and more and i recently returned to weight watchers but found it too expensive for the things you need which being a student i could not afford to be spending that kind of money on w.w scales etc. so thought id give this a try. so yeah doing this together and having this group forum sounds good to me with the journey, i need the help and i am so unhappy with my weight i just dont look and feel like i use to and want that confidence back!
