Hi AJ I suspect that you're not eating enough of the right things. Have you worked out your BMI and from that obtained your daily calorie allowance?

I think I'm not eating enough for my evening meal.. in the morning I'm ok when I've had my weetabix it's just first thing when I get up

I thought you were borderline diabetic. Just wondering about the choice of weetabix

It seems like you need to learn more about the appropriate diet for someone with diabetes. I suggest you take your time reading the replies to your previous post, here rb.gy/l8o33s

I am expecting that you have input from your GP in relation to your diabetes and would suggest you work with them regarding your weightloss and feeling dizzy in the morning and to work on a plan that lowers your weight gradually to take your condition into account.

I went to see my GP after being diagnosed as pre diabetic They put me on a course that lasts nearly a year and has 14 ninety minute sessions covering healthy eating , exercise , alcohol etc This would be ideal for AJ , it's nhs run so should be available everywhere

Hello AliJohn65 and thank you for your supportive reply.

If you are a weight loss journey yourself you might want to have a look at our regular threads that cover all manner of issues, for example a Daily Diary, Weigh In and Fit is Fun.

The link to see them all is at the bottom of this reply. The key for many successes here is joining in and sharing ideas and support (much as you have already done above) and if you have any problems navigating around the forum let us know.

All the best, :)

I know all the right things to do However the alcohol loving portion of my brain leads me astray a couple of times a month ! I actually run a walking group on the meetup app , some great groups on there if people need a little real life help

Thanks AliJohn, there is a lot of advice and support out there, sometimes it’s just knowing where to look (and then taking action of course) 😊

Were do I find the meet up app please

You can find it through meetup.com, it's a site for local groups, so you would need to see if there was something suitable in your local area.

In play store on android or app store on iPhone or on Web as grigid suggested

Hi AliJohn65,

I was also pre diabetic but, my local GP offered a free 12 week slimming world programme instead. It sounds like you have a good deal there re the support you have. Unfortunately, even though through the NHS, not all places run the same programmes for instance, I had the free SW but, now they offer free weight watchers in other areas. I also have a condition called cfs/me where there is no support at all in some areas yet plenty in others-again run by the NHS.

AJ have you joined the diabetics uk forum, there are all types of diabetics on there and they are very friendly, supportive and knowledgeable about food and all things diabetic. I understand that many GPs know little about giving good advice on diabetes, other than lose weight, take drugs. Breakfast cereals are very carby. Enjoy your eggs.
