Bad few days

I'm back today after having a bad few days or really a bad week. Just lost the plot after my dental visit as I ate so much then didn't pull back at all. Had takes aways at weekend so yesterday was first day I pulled myself towards myself and started again. Someone said to me stop trying to lose weight as I'm always saying I'm trying but I have to say I'm doing it. I'm going to do this. Hope ye all doing good. It's not easy but the alternative is getting more and more unhealthy and I want to be healthy πŸ‘πŸ‘Œ

The advice to "stop trying to lose weight" is sound. You've got the right idea with wanting to be healthy. If you eat healthy food, reasonably consistently, then the excess flab will just disappear of its own accord.

There is no need to restrict your meal sizes or "pull back" after "eating too much". Doing this sort of thing won't get you where you want to be, and because it doesn't work it'll drag you into a self-destructive cycle of obsession with the scales and with your food. The aim is to eat the right amount, no more and no less. Once your body realises that it's carrying excess fat, your appetite will drop slightly; but forcing yourself to eat less doesn't work.

Most people who are overweight have got that way by eating the wrong things, not by eating too much. Make sure you have more vegetables on your plate than stodge (bread/rice/pasta), eat whatever meat/eggs/dairy you like, cook your meals yourself, and avoid fake food like the plague (especially "low fat" substitutes, which are mostly filled out with trash). Eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full. Your own body will sort it out from there.
