Itchy eyelids

I've got wet macular degeneration in one eye and dry macular degeneration in the other and recently, both eyelids have been itching terribly. I try to avoid rubbing them but it's difficult not to. Years ago Golden Eye Ointment was the 'go-to' solutin for all eye problems but this is no longer available and my pharmacist cannot recommend anything. I use Blephosol cleanser to clean my eyelids and Thealoz eye drops for dry eyes on the advice of my consultant. Any ideas what I can do to help the itchiness?

Hi ANGIEIRISH, I think you may be on the wrong forum. We can help you with your weight loss journey with peer to peer support. We are not medically trained.

May I suggest you give your consultant a ring and ask his opinion.

Sorry posted this on the wrong forum. The Macular Society is also linked to Health Unlocked so I've moved over there with this query.

Hello Angieirish,

I would suggest that you contact your optician, they will be able to advise you and will probably have wipes you can purchase from them. My Father has dry macular degeneration and this is what was suggested to him and it has helped.

We are not medically trained here and would not like you to receive the wrong information as our eyes are so delicate :)

Wrong Forum, sorry. I've posted the problem on the Macular Society's page on Health Unlocked.

Easily done :) I hope that you get some helpful answers, I know it can be very irritating :) Would you like me to delete this post here or close it to replies for you?

Thanks, but I've already signed into the weightloss forum. My eye comment was meant for the Macular Society' Forum which is also on Health Unlocked! My mistake.

I have a dry eye and take eye drops. Sometimes I use Body Shop Elderflower eye gel as it cools the area around the eye. Just dab a little around the eye. You can go to the shop and use the specimen jar to see if it suits you.
