Hi all, I am back to school next week and as I am doing so well I am really wanting to stay on plan.
I won't have access to a staff room (being used as something else) so no fridge or microwave. I just need something that isn't just a cheese sandwich.... yawn π€£

I was a teacher for 30+ years. I used to take a salad. I never had access to a fridge, so if the weather was warm, I used one of those freezer blocks in my bag to keep my food cool. You can also buy insulated lunch bags to keep things chilled. They work fine, as you only have to keep it cool for the morning, not all day.
I used to prepare my lunches while I was preparing my evening meal the night before, usually a small portion of cooked pasta with lots of chopped salad and cubed cheese or ham etc and some dressing, easy to eat straight from the tub with a fork, plus some fruit and a yogurt, all kept cool, no problem. I did try soups, which are great as you can batch cook at the weekend, but it too often went cold when some child knocked on the department office door to say he/she felt sick/had lost their homework/Johnny had hit him/her etc! Oh joy! Good luck, Healthy-wannabe , I am quite glad I am retired now!
I am jealous of your retirement, having been shielding my lil one for almost 6 months I have realised how much I like being home π great idea for pasta I also forget can have cold.
It is such a good investment! I got my daughter one which wasn't thermos and didn't keep things hot long enough. I like to make a Thai curry noodle soup, it is lovely π€
