do you log calories with food staples?

does anyone log in which spice and stuff as calories as i dont but was just wondering should I be logging these down?

I don't log them unless I am creating a recipe that I might want to make again, and want to remember the ingredients.

But it depends what you mean by "stuff". Oils, fats and most things sweet have significant calories. If you are counting carbs, then onions, garlic and ginger may add significant carbs.

I think we can over think these things; if you are losing weight and not ravenous, then you should keep doing what you are doing. If the weight isn't coming off then you need to look for hidden calories - or try a different approach.

I do log herbs, spices, salt and pepper, but they often come up with 0 calories so I don’t worry that much about it.

Mostly I log them when creating recipes so they are saved and I can just pick up the same recipe the next time. If I’m eating chips and put salt on them I don’t bother recording that - the chips are bad enough! 😂
