Slight anxiety

I lost all of the vision Dion in my right eye quite suddenly, a d suffered a massive bleed and my eye was filled with blood. No one could see the back if the eye so no one could tell me why it had occurred. I eventually had surgery to remove the blood in my eye and was told I could expect to regain my sight. How’re following the surgery I was informed that my central vision would not return due to there being a blood clot at the back of my retina which couldn’t be removed. No other information was given to me. I googled it and it’s potentially very serious. I do have an appointment to see the surgeon. But I do feel a bit anxious about the prognosis

Hi Grannybel,

That sounds really shocking and I am glad you have an upcoming appointment with a surgeon. There is a problem in consulting Dr Google as it can give very negative results. My auntie had a bleed behind her eye recently that was picked up by the optitian, the prognosis looked bad with Dr Google but, her real doctor said it was nothing to worry about. I know this is different to your more drastic eye bleed but, I am telling you because she was really worried too and only a specialist is going to be able to explain what your situation means and what can be done. I hope this helps a bit.

What a frightening experience for you Grannybel. I do agree with Bee-bop , we can sometimes frighten our selves needlessly with Google. I hope your appointment with the Surgeon is soon and that they will allay any fears that you have.

Sending you healing vibes and a hug 💐

Awww, how awful for you. No wonder you are feeling a bit anxious. The surgeons can work wonders these days, and I'm sure that they will be able to sort you out. My mum has had several surgeries on her eyes and they have so far improved every time.

It is a bit of an unfortunate time to need the NHS at the moment due to the Coronavirus, but hopefully, once it is all over, they will get your problem sorted out. I wish you all the very best and hope you get a good outcome from this.
