There are two things I dislike about the gym. Firstly that there are mirror for those more interested in themselves and how they look than actually getting fit. the other is that, after my short session, I'm not ripped with a six pack! You mean this will take longer than one session?
That’s the only good thing about being short sighted, I can take my glasses off and see the world and myself out of focus. Everything including my shape looks better with fuzzy edges🙃
If it makes you feel any better about the gym, the mirrors are actually there to help you with form and posture during your workouts. For example when lifting weights or doing bodyweight exercises it's important to have correct posture so that you 1) don't injure yourself and 2) get the most out of the exercise If it still bothers you maybe there are some areas of the gym where you can avoid the mirror?
As for the six pack I recommend taking a picture of when you started (as much as you might not want to, I know I didn't!!) and then take another picture in six weeks or so. Often the changes are so gradual we don't notice them but put the two side by side and I'm pretty sure you'll notice some progress
Anyhow, good on you for going to the gym and working out!
