Day 8. Step goals

Good morning all,

Since starting this at the beginning of the year I have set a step goal of 14,000 steps a day. So far I have managed to meet that goal 6 out of 7 days. It's been nice taking the dog out for longer walks in the evening and has helped my wife and I to talk more about us rather than work. Walking also is a fun and easy exercise to help lose or maintain weight. I am really looking forward to my walk again tonight and trying, once more, to meet the step goal I have set. I hope you all have found your way of getting the exercise you need but if not I do highly recommend a walk with you partner and a nice conversation.

Good luck with your journeys today.

Stay strong.

Totally agree! When I moved to London and gave up my car because it was just sat outside the flat needing tax, I lost half a stone just by accident walking to and from the tube every day!

That's brilliant! I'm thinking of parking outside if my school so I have to walk to get to work and back again at the end of the day. Only problem with that is that 32 books are heavy to carry!

That’s amazing! I think that’s a fab step count! I went for a long walk with my partner on Sunday and really enjoyed it and like you also felt nice to have that quality ‘connection time’. Planning more walks and some gentle ‘hikes’ and have downloaded the Komoot app to find some nice spots in our area. Keep up the great work!

I used to do a lot of exercise (step Reebock power workout two or three times, a week, and cycling 15,000 miles a year) but now, at 70, having been disabled for five years, I found that walking 50km a week was too much - and I now walk 30 to 45km a week.

Wow, I sincerely hope that I am as active as you at 70. But then that has been key to my in-laws staying so healthy! Good luck continuing!
