So I’ve succeeded thus far in merely reducing the number of Cadbury’s Roses & Celebrations I’ve snacked in at work ... yay me!
Not really... I had a fair old fistful of them ‘just because they were there’!
Came home, snaffled down 3 bags of pork scratchings ‘ because I remembered they were in the cupboard ‘...
In an effort to not snack tonight after work I cooked a proper dinner, then spent from 7:30pm until now (3:55am - holy crap I didn’t realise it was THIS late/early) - taking down my gloriously decorated Christmas tree and all manner of objects de Noel ... I know, my french is as strong as my willpower but I swear I’ve got a bit of Del Boy in my genetic make up- mange tout?
Maybe I’ll be able to resist scrummy snacks tomorrow (let’s face it - I won’t be awake this side of 10am!)

Hi FatFairNFifty-ish ,I'm sorry but your post made me giggle. I see you joined this community in December. At the moment Hidden is hosting a challenge,Junk Free January, I've joined it and I'm finding it helpful even if it makes me think twice before I reach for the left over Christmas chocs.
You'll find the link in the pinned post What's Happening Today.
Yep... joined that... and thought I’d make it ... but nope... not managed it so far - & as unlikely as it sounds, I’ve definitely drastically reduced my junk food intake!
I’m not sure that’s what ‘baby steps’ means though ..
Well done for posting FFNF-ish! Best way to deal with things is to shine a light on them.

Just from my own personal experience, I moved away from most carbs. It turns out that the way these metabolise in our bodies causes more and more cravings.
If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism. Eating plenty of good food, including fat (not sugar or carbohydrate) satiates and reduces the desire to snack.
Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
