Hi Isiepie. Well the one that I use is called FatSecret. It’s free, easy to download (apps store). So so easy to follow.

Hope you can find it . This is what your looking for !👍🤗👍

Good luck! 🎅🏻🎄⛄️

Let me know what you think. I use it every day and I have a calorie intake of 1425 calories each day. This is my specific calorie intake given to me by the nhs site.

Within that amount I can have whatever food I want and to be honest it gets you to look at exactly what you consume each day and lose weight !

Hope it works.🤗🤗

I used my fitness pal for over a year and managed to loose just over 3 stone. I was 13.8 and got down to 10.5 from tracking everything I was eating as well as exercising. Feel so much better for doing it, I just need to keep it up.

It’s so easy to use just scan barcodes of food

Another vote for My Fitness Pal - I really like the bar code option. I also use My Weight to track my weight

Hi Isiepie, I started off using My Fitness Pal which is certainly a very good app. Then I read up on the idea that “all calories are not equal” ie calories from carbs are processed in a different way by the digestive system than calories from fat. I’m no expert, but it was an intriguing idea and turned out that concentrating on the source of the calories worked better for me in staving off hunger pangs and losing weight, rather than counting them.

Hi Isiepie, I’ve just read your profile and I realise that my last response was geared toward someone just trying to lose weight. So this is more directed to the work that you’re doing to promote healthy eating, rather than you personally :))

I spent decades (now in my 60s) following every diet under the sun, which were all basically, eat less, exercise more, count calories. It didn’t work - I got fatter and fatter until I didn’t want to try again ever for fear of ending up even bigger. Then health issues took over, I was bursting at the seams with a hernia of internal fat. That’s when I came to this website and My Fitness Pal, started counting calories again,.

The light bulb moment for me was seeing online videos by Dr Robert Lustig “The Skinny on a Obesity” and realising that when in the 1970s we were told that fat is bad for us and we switched to low fat (high carb) diet options, we were then on an upward weight spiral. I’m so much healthier and happier since getting back to proper food, fat included, and avoiding processed and sugar.

For you in your work, you will be able to help people and make them aware of what is happening to them and why. I now look around at the effect of current lifestyle on the population, it upsets me to see so many becoming misshapen by the levels of sugar that manufacturers use, so that they become addicted and come back and buy more.

To me, sugar is the new tobacco and should be treated in the same way. I wish you well in your work, because the young generation desperately need to be guided away from the mistakes we were led into.
