Hi. Just joined this forum, so thought it would be a good idea to be social.
After a long time struggle with weight gain and binge eating, I am finally in a place where I am hoping to make some serious life changes. Having tried a variety of diets before, I have always been met by scepticism from family about how successful I’ll be at loosing weight. I certainly don’t blame them, I have proved them right many times over with small amounts of weight loss followed by significant gains.
So, rather than announce to the family that I am attempting yet another diet, I have decided to review my lifestyle in its entirety. I have made the move to a plant based diet, and hoping to increase my exercise - but at 25st I’m mindful I don’t want to embarrass myself in front of the gym members right away! I’ve started walking more and trying some free weight at home (in the cover of darkness, with no judging eyes).
I guess I am mindful I don’t want to go “too hard, too fast,” and find myself simply purging and then binging again. So, I’m taking it one day at a time. 12 weeks on the NHS Plan; let’s see how this goes.
Hoping that by posting on here I am at least making myself a little more accountable. Who knows, maybe I’ll be inspired by the great progress everyone seems to be making.
Hello and welcome, no judging eyes here ! If you want to be held accountable you could join our new Summer Challenge, here is the link to tell you all about it, hope to see you there !
Because of your history with dieting and bingeing, I'm going to suggest you consider a different approach, rather than calorie counting and the 12 week plan. This will shift your focus from how much you're eating to what you're eating.
