I’m making a chilli tonight - it’s one of my fav SlimmingWorld recipes that I’ve tweaked over the years - full of veg, kidney beans etc but not a clue how to work out the calories ?! 🤯🤯🤯

Working out calories 🤔
If you are using a can of kidney beans - it will tell you on the tin, same with any tinned tomatoes if using them.
Any other ingredients - weigh them and the google "calories in 100g carrots", "calories in 400g beef mince"... and so on for all your ingredients.
Then add up all the numbers and divide by how many portions it will make
So if you get to 1600 cals and its making 4 lots ... its 400 cals a lot.
Once you've done this once - just keep it written in a book etc
That's one way and the one i've used loads to work out calories in meals
Good idea with the book if not every meal with be more maths that food lol can see the early days being very time consuming
It can take a little time to start - you can also use recipes from books / internet that already have calorie counts. If you stick roughly to their ingredients and how many it serves ... the calorie work is done for you already.
I found once i'd googled the same ingredients a couple of times though ... i started to learn roughly what they were ... same with weighing, i learnt what 100g of carrots looked like after weighing it out 5 or 6 times.
Its just learning something new - and like learning anything new in life, it takes a little effort and time to get better at it
Weigh every ingredient and write down the weights, look up calories on google, will probably tell you per 100 gms, so multiply/divide as necessary - add all calories together and then divide by how many portions you will get from your Chilli
Remember to keep a note of it so you will have the information for future use
Then enjoy
