Coming back for support
Hello and a very warm welcome back to the Weight Loss Forum Mandy 😊
Please take another look at the Welcome Post for advice about how the forum works and all the things we have on offer. healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... Read it carefully as it has lots of important information, and just ask if you have any questions.
The best advice I can give is have enough to eat. If you are following the NHS 12 Week plan then the 1400/1900 calorie target suggested is a just generic amount, please check your own personal calorie target using the BMI checker, it’s often higher than you think. We always advise starting towards the top of the range, being hungry is the biggest cause of weight loss failure
I recommend coming onto the forum regularly, daily if you can, reading posts and replying to others. Being part of a community is proven to help weight loss.
For your own privacy and safety online we suggest that you lock your posts by selecting ‘members of my community’ when you write a new post. Please read our security post here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... especially as your post isn’t locked. For greater anonymity you may also wish to change your username.
Best wishes and have a good week

Hi Mandy, hope you’ll find all the encouragement and support you need here. I’ve found it helpful to come regularly to the site . I only joined a week ago so just finding my way round. I’ve come across some interesting recipes here too. Good luck 😉
Hello Mandy, I've been battling my weight for decades. The only way that has worked for me is LCHF. If you've not tried it, you might like to give it a go.
Just a suggestion, I know it's not for everyone, but don't dismiss it without giving it a go.
Best of luck. Yvonne
Wow 35 kg on Lchf
That’s brilliant.......
I am at a lull, lost 8kg on Lchf then it stopped so counting calls for last2 weeks.
I probably was not eating enough to lose
What was your carb intake on Lchf
Sorry abou5 all the questions
Hi, I eat extremely low carbs. Absolutely no bread, potatoes, rice etc. No sugar, except I wlll occasionally have some dark Lindt chocolate. My meals are usually meat and above ground veg. Bacon & eggs & tomato. I eat all sorts of cheeses too, particularly Brie.
I have been doing "Carnivore January" this year, so virtually no carbs except for the few that are in cream which I have in my coffee.
I've lost 4.5kg in 3 weeks and hoping for another 2 or 3 before the end of the month.
Are you doing intermittent fasting? It works really well for me and might be the boost you need. My first meal is around midday and I eat again around 6pm so I have an 18 hour fast most days.
Lots of information online... keep looking and learning.
Yvonne
Do you eat fruit?
No I don't eat fruit, you can have berries with some cream if you're looking for a dessert type treat. I do make my own Kombucha and in the second ferment I put blueberries or raspberries but of course you don't consume them, they're just there for flavour. Of course you can have tomatoes, avocados, cucumber..all technically fruit
Hi Mandy
Just to say that I have 6st 4lb to lose and I started on the 1st January. If you log into this everyday, you will find tremendous support. I had pretty much until this week and have slipped a bit. However, I have not fallen. If I can do this, I am sure you can to. I am thinking of joining the 12 week plan to see if that helps a bit more. Good luck. Let me know how it goes xx
Hi and welcome, youve come to the right place, infact yesterday we just started an easter challenge to lose half a stone before easter (12 weeks away) would you like to join us ?
Hi Mandy best of luck with your weight loss programme and glad you have taken a positive step by joining this group. Smaller portions, gentle exercise and keep posting. 😊
Good luck with your first week. There’s lots of ideas here for lovely healthy meals. Have a good look around for some tips to start you off. Everyone is very supportive.
Good luck
Choose your 3ating plan and stay with it
It works ———little by little
I know some people use 1/2 kilo at a time targets
Then reward themselves with something.......not food
Good luck
