Motivation neededv

So basically I decided I wasn’t going to count calories from the 23rd December- 2nd Jan just so I could enjoy Christmas and New Years without having to think about it. But it’s now the 15th and I’m just lost all motivation to carry on. I want to but it hasn’t happened yet this year. I’ve only gain 2.5 ibs since the 22nd December. Anyone able to give me tips and advise to get back into it??

Tell yourself you can do it. It’s ok to talk to and motivate yourself. I do it all the time and it works for me. Each day is a new day and a new start. Don’t give up. You got this!!!!

I've previously found the same problem and it is difficult to re-gather the enthusiasm. The good thing, is that you've already made an important step forward by posting this.

A couple of thoughts spring to mind...

Are you involved in the weekly weigh-ins, which help keep the mind focused.

Are you using the Daily Diary? If not, how about going to it now and write up what you're going to eat today. It's much easier to eat well if you've written it down and told others about it. Plus there's always good ideas to be had from others' menus.

Are you supporting others? That may sound like a daft question but there is a feel good factor that comes with helping others here that can perk us up, giving us that extra bit of 'get up and go'.

I find it also helps me to try and capture the mindset I had, that originally started me on this journey. For me that was a belt that wouldn't do up, buttons that had to be left undone, my poor breathing and my general self-loathing.
