What am i

OK I'm using my fitness pal and I don't know what my calorie count should be. Am I active or very active? My week consists of 2 40min fitness classes, x2 gym sessions & 4 runs (1/2 being recovering runs). That's my exercise, I'm a delevery driver for tesco which can involve alot heavy lifting and walking, mostly 6 days a week.

Don't get your calorie allowance from MyFitnessPal, JohnnyLewis, get it from the NHS BMI calculator. You should log yourself as active.

Are you eating at the upper end of your calorie range and are you eating plenty of natural fats, for satiety?

Honestly I don't know about the fats. I sorta have to fall into what being bought for the house and trt my best. Can't afford 2 shopping lists. I'm usually with in 200 calories of my goal. But last few weeks it's been very close. Don't know weather it's to do with the extra running etc.

Extra activity requires extra fuel. If you're hungry, you need to eat more. I'm not sure whether you've seen this, but I think it would be a better plan for you phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...

MyFitnessPal gives you a single figure. The NHS calculator gives you a range of 400 from top to bottom. Move further up the range so you're not feeling hungry

The Apple Watch 4 is not cheap - but it tells you how "active" you are.

Hi there Johnny

The NHS BMI finder is the best but I find My Fitness Pal better for keeping track of you calories.

I am a serial snacker so putting the calories in for what I am eating helps me a lot. Also log in here to see what exercise you can do. I am doing the Active 10.....starting with wee bursts of 10 minutes brisk walking . I find it stops me thinking about eating and by the time I have done the walk I don`t feel as much like snacking as I am roasting from the walk anyway. Maybe worth a try?

I would say very active. But I wouldn't take the figure it gives you as gospel. My figure says I can eat up to 2300 a day! But other tdee calculaters say 2100 or even 1943. I walk/jog 7 days a week, treadmill about 3 or 4. Swim once or twice a week and do a fat burn aerobics 15 mins off of you tube 3 or 4 times a week.

I have tried numerous calculaters for working out my calorie burn but they all vary drastic and myfitnesspal seems to be on the low side.

I cut calories by doing the 5.2 diet (drastic calorie cut of 500 calories twice a week) but I now have 800 because of the extra fuel needed for my exercise. On the other days I never go over 2000. Usually it's about 1600-1700 calories and 1900 on weekends.

I would say get the figure for 'active' and 'very active' then go for consuming a number in between the two figures. If you are losing weight easily but feel hungry you could increase. If you are not losing weight or don't feel you need that many calories you could decrease.

It really is the only way to fine tune it specifically for your individual needs.

So decided to do triathlon training now. So with advice I have to up my calories for 3 days of the week. My macros now are 40% carbs 40%protein and 20% fat. Anyone know any good high protein low fat snacks that are good? I've been told peanut butter and banana work well together?
