Hi 1958grace

Welcome to the forum

I used to wear an elastic band around my wrist and everytime i thought of having chocolate or crisps when i actually wasnt hungry i would pull that band and let it snap on my wrist - kind of like aversion therapy bug it seemed to work for me & i also used to wear a vanilla scented body spray As this made me feel like not eating it as i was smelling sweet all day !

I hope you take part in this forum as much as you can as thats when youll find it helps the most !

Theres plenty of events and challenges to have a look into to help you

Good luck xx

Hi 1958grace and welcome to this forum. I too loved chocolate didn’t matter if it was milk, dark or white as long as it was chocolate. In just over a year I have dropped my cholesterol from 6.8 to 3.5 weighing everything, counting calories and writing it all down. I found that Tesco sell a lovely muller chocolate fix near the yoghurts etc which though 94 calories a tub ( 4 in a pack) are enough to satisfy my choc craving. You can do it and there are ways round things. In just over past year I have lost 4 stone 4 lbs so it can be done. God luck to you on your weight loss journey Sue

Hi 1958 Grace. I am also a chocoholic. When I was diagnosed with high cholesterol that frightened me into losing weight. It took me a year to lose one and a half stone. This I did by just avoiding the sweet stuff. Just not having it in the house and walking past it in the supermarket. However recently I have lapsed back into old habits and gained half a stone.

Hello grace, I don’t have a craving for sweet things my problem is savoury, especially bread and all the delicious concoctions which it can be filled with. But since June last year I stopped eating carbs and now it doesn’t bother me. I know sometimes looking for alternatives can help, but then it is so easy to go back to the real thing, after all it does taste much nicer. I know now I don’t enjoy eating bread, I have tried it recently, didn’t like the texture and found it made the filling bland. You will get lots of support on this forum and advice from other members. There is always someone who will be able to answer a question. But most of all don’t look at it as a diet, for most of us here it is a change of habit’s for life. My aim is for a healthy and good quality of life growing into a mature and healthy adult. Good luck with your changes take small steps, read all the information that has been sent to you.

Hi grace. I too was a chocoholic and I still have some but only occasionally and now I have worked my way up to 100% cocoa. I really like the taste and I don't need a lot to satisfy. I am doing low carb high fat and after a few days the sweet/carb cravings go. Good luck with your journey!
