I am getting frustrated. I am obviously losing the weight but its only showing in inches not numbers. How do I get it to show the weight loss in numbers.

Why is the number on the scales so important, gillmack? If you're shrinking, then surely that's what matters?

Concentrate on getting fitter and healthier and let the weight loss be a happy side effect, that way you'll be able to celebrate your achievements, rather than ignore them :)

I hate the number where I am on the scales.

You could take a break from the scales and/or join the daily diary, so that we can see exactly what you're eating and maybe offer advice.

You've only been here for a week and it can take a little while to get started.

thing is I know I can do it. I lost 5 1/2 stone then fell pregnant so I know I can get the number down. Toddler is now 2 fed up with baby weight plus more.

You need to stop stressing about it, as that will hinder any weight loss.

Join in on the forum, join a weigh-in, the daily diary, a club, a challenge. By taking your focus off that number on the scales, I'm sure the losses will happen :)

I go to the gym 2 times a week and my sports centre has a weigh to go with diet class thing and dance.

That's fine, but the support here, is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and joining in, introduces you to other people and allows you to interact with people in the same situation, which is very motivating and an excellent back up to the groups you belong to in the real world.

Good on you that you took measurements as you still have the ability to focus on the positives.

We have been brought up and 'brainwashed' that what the scales say is all that matters. If you're losing inches then your clothes must fit better and possibly you can fit into smaller sizes. It means that you are becoming healthier and I'd take your situation as a win.

Don't lose heart as weight loss will occur if you carry on as you have been.

Thank you, I am drinking a lot, sleep great, I don't eat anything processed doesn't taste right and eat all fresh prepared meals.

Being happy with myself (the way I look) well that will come in time.

Let me know where you get the tape measure from as I need a new one too ;)

The scales aren't very accurate so don't worry about it.
