Lack of control

Stuck to plan yesterday very well. Got home from meal out and went mad. Are 2 caramel snack a jacks , nuts and fruit square if chocolate and in middle of night a bag of salty crisps as I suffer from severe night cramps. Really restless before bed and just eat. Fear of not sleeping.

Today have a lunch at church for members of charities and local council etc so will be soup and sandwiches. Going to defrost fish for evening and cut up some carrots to snack

Should go to Slimming World but am a bit ashamed.

Hi there, bite the bullet and go to class. You will feel better for it, I know from personal experience. Today’s a fresh start, enjoy it 💐☀️

Morning Smiffyliz, please don't feel ashamed, we all have slip up's. I sometimes find if I have eaten out, it either hasn't satisfied my tase buds or I have just 'relaxed' my attitude to food a little too much. Think about ways you can help yourself to stop this happening next time.

If you know where you are going, look the menu up on line and have a good read through and see what you fancy before you get there in stead of maybe making a quick choice once you arrive.

Crampex is really good for night cramps, take before bedtime.

Try listening to some relaxation/or self hypnosis music/Cd's before bed and a cup of chamomile tea.

Enjoy your lunch and go to Slimming World, but don't feel ashamed :)

Have a great day :)

Have tried crampex but have quinine on prescription so don’t think I can take both

I often have chamomile tea if I am up in the night and have discovered it is quite nice cold

What did you eat when you were out Smiffyliz? Were you really strict and stuck to low fat, low cal foods, or did you have bread/rice/potato/dessert? Eating too little could have made you hungry and eating high GI foods could also have made you hungry. That has nothing to do with willpower and everything to do with biology :)

You could try joining us here, instead of going to Slimming World and join our Daily Diary and weigh-in. There's no judgement, so no need for shame.

You could reintroduce the fat back into your diet, so that you feel more satiated and less likely to binge.

You could also try proper hydration, stretching exercises and foods rich in potassium, calcium and magnesium, to prevent night cramps, rather than packet of crisps :)

You can do this and we can help :)

Don't forget!

Hi Smiffyliz,

Exactly - why do I eat stuff when I don't need it? What is the 'bit' in my head that goes 'the hell with that self-control stuff, eat this, and this, and this'. I think I'll call it Nige after my least favourite politician - there's no-way I'd ever do something he suggests.

This is my first post so thanks for describing exactly what happens to me.

I had a lean steak mushroom tomato salad and half baked potato and small ice cream

I take magnesium tablets and usually have some banana each day for potassium

Haven’t had much exercise while nursing my husband and starting to get back to classes

Have torn tendon in hip so can’t walk miles

Grief and emotion are I have found exhausting but I am getting there but strangely enough when nursing my husband I had neither cramp nor restless legs.

I like the slimming world group and find syns easier than looking up calories but when I can I will post menu on here

Thanks for help
