So here goes, total honesty....I have tried SW and WW over the years but not stuck to them and completely wasted my money, it wasn't so much the diets that let me down, it was me and my frame of mind. I have decided to try a more sensible approach and try this 12 week plan.
I am carrying about 2 stone more than I should be for my height and feel bloated and drained all the time. I recently found out that I suffer from a condition called diverticulitis so need to eat more fibre. I have eaten and drunk for too much of the last few weeks. I generally do have a good diet and do exercise but my alcohol intake has been far higher than it should have been and on a daily basis which has contributed to my weight gain. I was in denial because I was eating relatively healthy and exercising about 3 times a week, so I thought I could still have a few glasses of wine on an evening. So this became a daily routine!
I turned 47 on New Years day and felt flabby, tired and miserable whilst drinking a glass of wine to celebrate my birthday and decided that was the last drop of alcohol I will drink in January. Time to change my frame of mind!! I'm doing dry January!!
Its now been 3 days without drinking a drop of alcohol and today is the best I have felt for a while. I signed up to this site yesterday and read/ downloaded everything I need to help me start losing weight and having a healthier life.
It sounds as if you're in totally the right frame of mind now and I wish you all the best of luck with your dry January
